Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!

10 Dec

How fitting that day 10 of the Christmas blog challenge is favorite Christmas scent.

Mine would most definitely have to be the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree.  Aaannd I just put up…my fake Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!!

Oh well, it may not be freshly cut, but it’s still pretty!

In other news, I’m almost all the way done with my Christmas shopping!  Crazy talk, I know.  In my family we send out Christmas lists.  Yes, even at 30 I send my mom a Christmas list.  It’s not like I’m still asking for a Barbie and a new bike…well maybe.  But, I think it helps guide your shopping if you have a list to work off of.  Some people I know, totally disagree.

What do you think?  Do you like a list to go off of when Christmas shopping?

Are you done with your Christmas shopping?

Weekend recap

20 Dec

So, I had a great post that updated y’all on the weekend and such.  I came back to finish it up and I just was not feeling it.  I think it had to do with the fact that I didn’t really sit down when I got home.  First, I made muffins for a staff breakfast, then Leanne and I went to Yoga, but didn’t do Yoga at all.  Instead we sat and talked for about 2 hours.  Sheesh.  After we got back I washed dishes.  So, yeah.

So here’s the weekend in pictures…

There was a lot of this

and this, Terrapin’s truffle mac n cheese

Yummy yummy truffle mac n cheese!

Maybe a little of this

Oooo, bubbles!

The weekend was capped off by watching Christmas Vacation and eating leftovers from Terrapin.  A great way to end the weekend and start a 3 day work week.

Without further ado, some of our favorite Christmas Vacation quotes…

“Why is the carpet all wet…Todd?  I don’t know….Margo!”

“Hallelujah…Holy Sh*t!…Where’s the Tylenol?”

“Surprised Eddie?… If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am now.”

“Hey Griswold. Where do you think you’re gonna put a tree that big?  Bend over and I’ll show you.  You’ve got a lot of nerve talking to me like that Griswold.   [looking at his wife, Margo] I wasn’t talking to you.”

“Is your house on fire, Clark?  No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights.”

How many days until Christmas?

11 Dec

Don’t answer that because I really don’t want to know.  I still haven’t started Christmas shopping, but that will change today.  Today, we go Christmas shopping.

We went to a Christmas party last night that included a lot of little guys.  It was for the gym where we do Pilates and yoga.  It was cute, but a lot of little people running around.

Speaking of little people… The teacher’s assistant that works in first grade with one of my students had this conversation: (slightly paraphrased)

S-What are tutu’s ?

MT – Tutu’s are what ballerina’s wear.

S- Oh!  Do they have small and big ones?

MT – Yes they come in all sizes.

S- Oh, then you’d probably need a big one.

MT – *silence*

S – Ya know, because you’re an adult…

Oooo good save and walking on dangerously thin ice my little beseecher.  I hope it’s okay that I shared this MT!

I’ll leave you with some Christmas photos!

Who says snowmen and rubber duckies can't get along?

Merry Christmas from school!

Yes, I have a Christmas tree in my room.  I like it!  And that’s all I’m going to say.

Have a great weekend!
