So this whole blog thing and work thing and wedding planning thing…yeah it’s tricky to keep it all afloat.
So what’s been going on?
A little of this
A lot of wedding dress trying on. Not posting any photos, however. Y’all just have to wait! I will let you know, it does not look like this…
A little too much work for the Matron of Honor and bridesmaids.
We have a wedding DJ! I’m super excited to have them! Check out Atlantic Digital Entertainment if you need a DJ. I’m excited already and haven’t even really decided on anything. One of the things that sold me was how organized they are. Seriously. Love it!
We have also booked our photographer, Ross Costanza. Again, super excited and can’t wait until it all comes together and we take pictures.
All of the other little things are coming together. But, man are there a lot of little things!
Seriously, that’d be so much easier…
It’s a good day when it’s a snow day…even though we have to make it up.
See look, we actually got snow. It wasn’t pretend!
Love to drink coffee out of my Polish Pottery mug. Fits perfectly in my hand.
Of course I have to include a picture of Bond. I don’t think he was quite as enthused that I was home, but he dealt with it. He is also keeping close tabs on that back leg of his… It’s gotta mind of its own!
Okay, not really, but I couldn’t come up with another alliterative title for my weekend. I just like the way it sounds, what can I say. Football game, birthday, race just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
First up, the race!
I did the Yorktown Battlefield 5K this weekend. It was a beautiful course! It follows the Yorktown Battlefield driving tour, which is neat to begin with. As you can see I was wearing my dead sexy calf sleeves. I do like them and got them half off from Groupon!
I didn’t get to snap a picture of the course because I was actually trying to run for a certain time, but just trust me…it was pretty.
Next up, football game! ODU played Rhode Island and beat them pretty handily, good times.
Saturday was the birthday party and the sunset was beautiful! Happy Birthday to Stephanie, it was a wonderful night!
How was your weekend? What did you do?
Today is an exciting Friday indeed! I get to see these lovely people…
“Looks like a big ol’ beach…”
Mi madre y padre!
2) One of the first graders wore his pants entirely backwards for the whole day yesterday. A little Kriss Kross action for ya!
3) It has finally decided to be fall in Virginia Beach. I am a major fan of this.
4) I think this is pretty spot on
5) I have also discovered a new snacky type love. Pirate’s Booty. I know I’m late to the game here, but yum! If anyone wants to send me a few bags…I’m okay with that. It’s a snack food, trust me!
Or the time I titled my post Weekend Snapshits and my phone autocorrected to the correct word. Thanks autocorrect!
It is definitely Fall out on my balcony. However, the weather is very confused as to what season we are in. Apparently VA is in humid, windy, rain all the time, feel like you’re living in a cloud season…
This little postcard was in my Birchbox last month. Ya know, in case you need a pick me up…
I walked to end Alzheimer’s on Sunday. It’s great to see so many people out to raise awareness for this disease. If you’d like more information about a walk in your area check out the Alzheimer’s Association’s website.
See! This is what I’m talkin’ about! Living in a cloud. Oh and that dog was none too happy that I was taking his photo.
Not much, except I’ve been very busy. Seriously. I apologize for my disappearing acts, and will try to do better, buuuuttt….
So, I got flowers. If you want one way to make all the teachers of your school jealous, get flowers.
So we already know my best friend is amazing. Even though she lives on the West Coast she still managed to get me an awesome birthday present that includes bacon. Bacon Rice Krispy Treat anyone?
I also attended a wedding this past weekend. It was beautiful with good food, good drinks, and good people. Congratulations Clay and Charlotte!
Today when asking how much a dime was worth a student answered, “Ten diamonds!” I am going to have that kid as a friend forever! Never learn how much a real dime is worth!
I see many a weird thing while walking, running, or biking. Sunday I saw quite a few.
That would be a pop tart ,with one bite taken out of it, stuffed into some ivy.
That poor dinosaur had a rough night. I don’t even want to guess what is caked on the side of him. But someone was nice enough to stuff his head into the gate.
This isn’t so much random as it is a beautiful naturally almost daily occurrence.
And a cute cat for good measure. What can I say he loves a good sunbeam.
We went to the ODU vs. Howard game on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and ODU ran away with the game scoring 78 to Howard’s 10.
How was your weekend?
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was fantabulous!
We went to a wine festival. I guess I got a little out of control with the swirling of my sangria. It was very delicious even if I did have to suck it out of my shirt.
I got a nice Sunday morning walk in.
I also signed up to do the Heart of Ghent 1oK again this year. It was pretty fun last year. I mean how bad is free beer and pizza at the end of the race? It also takes you through Ghent and some places in Norfolk that you wouldn’t normally see. The proceeds also go to some pretty deserving charities like Ronald McDonald House, Access AIDS Care, and For Kids. You should check it out.
Michigan beat Notre Dame, which was also pretty fantabulous in its own way.
I wouldn’t normally take advice from Hannibal Lecter…but this quote has its own value.
Hello there! It’s been a busy couple of days. My birthday was on Monday and we spent it at Busch Gardens, literally until it closed. It’s pretty fun riding roller coasters at night. Just sayin’.
I did indeed get some birthday cake and shared it with some pretty cool individuals that also had August bday dates.
I also got beautiful flowers…
And some pretty spiffy kicks.
Oh and a new headband. I think they will be all the rage for the fall season.
In unrelated news, I made my own ice cream bars. I saw a recipe on Pinterest and was pretty sure I could pull it off.
8oz Chobani key lime yogurt
Leftover lemon verbena whipped cream (about a cup?)
5 sheets of graham crackers
8×8 baking pan
Break graham crackers into two and lay 5 on the bottom of a foil lined baking pan. Mix together yogurt and whipped cream. Pour on top of graham crackers. Place remaining graham crackers on top. Put in freezer for at least 4 hrs or until yogurt mix has hardened. When ready to enjoy, just cut into squares!
