Good morning! It’s the last full day in the OBX, yes it’s a little bittersweet. This is the day where you try to jam in all the stuff you didn’t get to do before. The agenda for today already includes the beach and milkshakes.
Again I’ll let you peruse my pictures, so I can have more time to watch the sunrise and listen to the waves….
The storm that rolled in on Thursday had an amazing lightening show to go along with it. It was literally like watching fireworks go off! I wanted to send my pictures into WAVY10, but it was a lot more difficult than it should have been and didn’t happen. What say you WAVY 10??
We went for a walk at the Pea IslandWildlife Refuge, it’s pretty cool if you have the chance. They have a bird sancutary where we saw swans, egrets, sandpipers, and an otter… I know, not a bird, but still pretty neat!
Yesterday the family went kayaking on the Alligator River. Did you know that this part of North Carolina is the northern most part where alligators can live? Yep, sure is. I was happy I didn’t see any alligators…. I’m not quite sure how I would defend myself from the seat of a kayak.
Going back to the title of the post. There are a lot, I mean a lot of folk stories and tales that talk about people becoming shape shifters around here. There is at least one story in every NC book in this house. So now, of course that is the running gag of the week. It’d be more funny if you were here…wanna come!?
