Wordless Wednesday

Hey Oh! 

I figured I haven’t done any alteration posts in a while so why not a Wordless Wednesday?  Yer welcome

First off, let me share our classy “last meal” at the old place.

Yes, that is in fact Chick Fil A with champagne.  Because Leanne and I have high standards ya know.

Bond is not and never will be a fan of moving…ever.

His new favorite game at the apartment is to get a running start from my bedroom, run and jump over where I am sitting in the hallway on the laptop, and then sprint to the end of the apartment.  He does this about 5 times.  It’s super fun for all involved.

Running, that is soooo beneath me...

Just in case you were worried…I am all unpacked except for the craft room.  I hope to have that all unpacked by the end of the month.  For serious.

School News

I write back and forth to one of my students.  He has Autism and it’s easier for him to communicate all of the ideas and thoughts he has this way.  It really does help and he doesn’t just blurt out as many random musings throughout the day.  Yesterday we were writing about the storms we’ve been having in the area.  He had this to say…

If you can’t read what he wrote, he said, “I hate the Rian but it helps the Trees and Plats (plants) But there is strong storms isolated thunderstorms scattered thunderstorms heavy rian AM showers PM showers Tornadoes Hurricanes but sometimes when there are storms like that sometimes the Power goes out in are house if you are sleeping and if your power is out you need a Flashlight so you can see where you are going if you do not have a flashlight if you loss (lose) your control if you are lazt you might hit your wall in your room and you will say OUCH!  It’s true.”

All one sentence.  I think it’s hilarious that he knows all the different types of storms and weather occurrences.  Also that he says if you are lazy and don’t have a flashlight.  This is what is going on in his mind at all times!

School News

One of my students told me today that she was, “Just going to give up and stop working.”  That’s awesome.  This is what happens at the end of the year, I really wish it wouldn’t.  I had a pep talk with this student and tried to convince her that she needed to keep going and keep trying.    I hope it worked.

Good Wednesday to you and Happy Hump Day.  I, for one, am very happy to be over the hump.  It means that I only have two more days until my Spring Break.  Can I get an Amen!?  The kiddos need a break and I need a break too!  We’ve had some very catty girls in our classroom the past couple weeks and it’s getting pretty old…

Today was a crazy one!  The kids were fine in the morning at school, but I don’t know what happened after lunch…  There was crying, feelings got hurt…oy.

With the help of a detective, I found his address and sent him a letter.  I was happy to have found him and exhilarated by the idea that I may actually hear back from my biological father.  I knew that he would contact me.  Five months later I was still waiting when a strange man showed up at my door.  Can I help you?  I asked.   “I don’t want you to say anything, just listen.  I am your father.” I felt my stomach rise up to my throat.  He kept talking, “I got your letter and well, it sent me into a spiral.  I hadn’t thought of you in 20 years and I was okay with that.  I don’t want to have anything to do with you.”  He then abruptly turned on his heel, tramped down the steps and down the street.  I was left there with my mouth wide open and heart smashed into pieces.  ”I don’t want anything to do with you.”  That would be my mantra and thought  needling in my mind for the rest of my life.

**Just so you all know, this is not autobiographical.  Promise!  I thought this was a pretty cool topic.   You try it!

Wordless Wednesday

Hey, look at that!  I’m actually going to do a Wordless Wednesday on a Wednesday.  What a novel concept.

I thought I would devote this Wordless Wednesday to someone you may or may not know yet.  This person loves to dress up., likes his martini’s, and is very suave.  This someone is my cat Bond.  Yes, James Bond

We got Bond from the SPCA back in October of 2007?  I think that’s right.  We were looking for a black kitten who was like the cats both Leanne and I had left back in Ohio.  We looked around in the different kennels and saw lots of adult cats, not really what we wanted.  Finally someone from the SPCA asked us what we were looking for and we told him.  He took us over to a glassed in room with lots of kitties and said, “How ’bout that black one?”  We responded with, “Which one?”  He was pointing to a black and white cat underneath about 4 other cats.  Oh, of course, that one!  Enter Bond!

He’s grown up a little since then, but is still just as cute!

We tried a bow, he just wasn't having it.

He can be a little crazy, but we love him all the same!  I highly recommend adopting your pet from your local SPCA or ASPCA (My Bob Barker plug).  There are a lot of good kitties, dogs, and other animals that need homes.

School News

All you teachers out there in the Virginia Beach area have better be doing your best snow dance!  We are supposed to get some snow and I want at least a delay of some sort.  Come on teachers!  Dance with me!

I asked one of my students if he wanted the day off tomorrow.  He responded, “Yeah, because then I wouldn’t have to come to school.”  This doesn’t sound all that exciting, but he said this statement with a high leg kick.  That.  Was exciting.
