There is no story behind my given name.  Yep.  I always thought it’d be cool if I was named after Emmylou Harris, but alas.  No such luck.

K, so I did this…  Here’s what I found out.  Emily is Latin in origin, meaning laborious, eager and rival.  Not so sure about that last one…  It is from the Latin Aemilia.    So there ya go.  Needless information for ya.

If you look really close at the first picture you can see that Leanne is wearing sandals!  Today, I am wearing a sweater and the temps may get down to freezing.  What in the?

School News

Today was a long day.  It was long because we had two students crying before 8:30…school starts at 8:30.  Oy!  We gave them hugs, told them they were wonderful, and then sent them to the counselor.

I am very glad it is the weekend.  I plan on sleeping, doing yoga, and walk, walk, walking to get ready for the Flying Pig Marathon!  What are your weekend plans?

The first graders were playing an opposite matching game during Daily Five.  One little girl got the match front and back.  She sat there and thought a moment and then said, “Party in the back!  Business in the front!”  Then started laughing hysterically.  Oh, children…
