Hey! I am so happy you found my blog! I am Emily and currently live in Virginia Beach or the Beach if you’re in the know. I started walking half marathons with my mom back in 2004 and caught the bug. I’ve walked in every Flying Pig Half Marathon from 2004 onward. I am a teacher at the Beach and finished up my Masters degree in Reading in 2011. I am still working on doing a half marathon in each state with my best friend Leanne, but just taking it at a slower pace.
Leanne will, hopefully, still make appearances on the blog, but is super busy right now. She’s got a wonderful new adventure she’s getting started on. I am so happy for her!
Leanne is in the Navy and returned from Afghanistan in May 2010. She walked in her first half marathon in September of 2010 (Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon)! Leanne was so inspired by the whole half marathon experience that she wanted to keep going! In fact, she wants to walk through all 50 states.
