I do believe I’ve broached this subject before, but it’s always fun to talk about.
During Word Study:
Student: Can the letters p and i go together?
Miss G: Yes, as long as it’s school appropriate (thinking they were going to spell piss or pissed).
S: Okay… I still can’t think of a short i word…is pimp school appropriate?
Mind you he didn’t just whisper this word to me. No, no, he blurted it right out loud.
MG: No that is not a school appropriate word, please don’t say it again.
