Okay that may be a little dramatic…
Okay a lot dramatic and little depressing, sorry about that! Moving on!
When it was getting closer to Leanne and Phil moving away I started thinking about going away gifts. I didn’t want anything too mushy or something they would have to store since they would be moving two more times.
So, I settled on a box.
I made this box! Okay not the actual construction of said box, but all the maps…totally me. I got an old atlas and modge podged (equal parts white glue and water) them onto my Michael’s box, then spray shellacked it. Crafty!
Inside the box:
I separated it into different occasions.
At the front was a photo book of Virginia Beach things and motivational quotes.
Then came quarters for tolls and what not.
Emergency fund. I included a tiny First Aid kit, Tide to go, Wet Wipes, Kleenex, and chocolate. Because what emergency can’t be solved with chocolate?
Lastly, food. Even on long car rides you can’t stop at only Mickey D’s. I put in stuff I knew Leanne and Phil both liked, a Subway gift card, and trail mix.
I think Leanne and Phil liked it? You’d have to ask them for sure, but it made me feel like I helped in their journey across the U.S.!
