Thoughtful Tuesday

7 Aug

I was going to title this “Wordless Wednesday”, but uh…it’s not Wednesday…

I just wanted to share some pics with y’all, that’s all!

Got me some new kicks!

My beloved Brooks Adrenaline.  I got them for a great deal on Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, which is now over…sorry.

Saw this while I was working.  It’s good to know that college professors feel like this too.

Sam Mikulak.  He showed such good sportsmanship at the vault finals in what NBC sports called a “Stick – fest.” Which maybe they should have given a different name…  But, regardless, he was excited to see all the other athletes perform and even said he wanted to see Yang Hak -Seon “rage” on the apparatus.

Also showing what it means to have integrity was Liu Xiang of China.  He fell during the 110 meter hurdle heat.  He was the world record holder and even won gold in the 2004 Olympics in Athens.  He hopped on one foot the remaining distance (after falling) to the last hurdle.

The other competitors in the heat helped him to a chair, although I don’t think he sat down, respecting what his accomplishments from previous games.

That is what I love about the Olympics.  For the most part the athletes respect one another.  They are all there to show their best effort and compete against the best.

Another thing I can’t stop watching?  Synchronized swimming…  I just can’t look away…

In particular the Russian’s freaky doll/puppet music themed routine.  I wanted to stop watching, but I just couldn’t!  I was so enthralled!

And how/what type of makeup do they use??  That stuff doesn’t budge!
