Goodness gracious indeed!
Just in case you didn’t know or don’t live on the East Coast, it’s hot…
105- 109, that’s awesome!
Like any sane person I decided to go out for a 5 mile run/walk this morning. To my credit there were many other crazy people out there. It’s not only super hot, but humid. Blech, I despise humidity and so does my hair.
Yesterday, to get out of the heat I spent some time in the library. I got 5 new books to tide me over this week
I’m already half way through one of them, “Edge of Dark Water.” by Joe R. Lansdale. It’s pretty good. It reminders of, “Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter.” Both are set in the south and involve murder. Good stuff.
I like the library for the books, but it also makes wonderful people watching. I plopped myself down in the genealogy section. A)they had comfier chairs there and B) no one else was sitting there. See that <—–? No one else was sitting there. My spot had two chairs and a low table, the chairs were pretty close together (this’ll be important later). I was happily reading, enjoying myself when this guy came over and sat directly next to me.
Of course, why didn’t I think to bring my one personal space ^?
Agh! Didn’t move the chair or anything. Then he proceeded to pull a box out of his backpack. What was in the box? His laptop of course. He had the original Macbook Pro box his laptop came in and was using it as a laptop case. Interesting.
Since the library is so cool..right, right? It seemed like everybody was coming in and just relaxing.
There was a guy who repeated whatever the library announcement said. Another who just mumbled and wandered around. And of course the guy who talked on his cell phone…loudly.
Oh, library you are nothing if not free entertainment on a hot day.
I hope everybody stays cool and still has power!
