This post is being edited by Bond…
Ugh, he’s such a stickler for grammar!
It’s the end of the month, so that means…Foodie Pen Pals!
Look here, and here for past entries.
This month I was paired up with Lily over at Eating For Excellence. I told her I was up to try new things and she sent me a couple of things I’ve been interested in trying!
This is take two of this photo. When I got Lily’s box I immediately took a picture of everything, she even had a cute note! When I went to upload the photo this week…totally gone! So while Bond is my blog editor, my camera is apparently my photo editor.
Onto the box!
Snacker Jack’s Popcorn- I ate some of this the other day, super delicious! It has tahini and sesame seeds in it! (I almost wrote Tracker Jackers Hunger Game obsessed anyone?)
Dark Chocolate bars x2 – I have already eaten one of the bars, which was dark chocolate w/raspberry I believe. I love, love, love dark chocolate!
Odwalla Protein Bars – I love Odwalla products and their bars. I haven’t yet tried their protein bars so I was excited to have three to gorge myself on!
Chia Seeds – This was one of the things I’ve been wanting to try. I always see them on blogs and have heard how good they are for you. Super excited to try them out!
Pecan Butter – Another thing I wanted to try. I’ve had almond butter, hazelnut butter, but that’s as far as I’ve gone. Tomorrow morning’s English Muffin may or may not have some Pecan Butter slathered all over it!
Cliff Bars x2 – In the picture is a Chocolate Brownie Bar. I stuffed the Cherry Chocolate Bar in my carry on bag for my wedding travels. It’s a good thing because it was the only thing I ate coming back from Columbus!
I loved the box Lily put together for me. Thanks Lily! If you want to see what I did for my pen pal, check it out over at Foodasaurus Rex!
If you are interested in becoming a Foodie Pen Pal, which I think you should… Here are the details!
On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
***If you’re in the UK, please contact Carol Anne from This Is Rock Salt at rocksalt@thisisrocksalt.com to get involved!
Have a great Monday!
Oh! I have less than a week ’til it’s Pig time! I’m looking forward to it, it may even decide not to rain.
